Code of Conduct (Junior)

BOTANIC JUNIOR HOCKEY CODE OF CONDUCT

Junior hockey is operated on a voluntary basis and is completely dependent on the good will and dedication of the members and parents who help out with coaching and team management.

All coaches, junior members and parents are expected to abide by the code of conduct in order to continue to foster an atmosphere of safety and fun.

For Parents/Guardians

  • Ensure children are on time for training/games.
  • Ensure children wear proper gear including mouth guard, shin guards and appropriate footwear.
  • Ensure children understand the player code.
  • Instruct children to never leave the pitch/club without the coaches’ permission.
  • Notify the club of any medical condition that could affect the safety of your child or others.
  • Give positive encouragement at all times, especially on the side of the pitch / during matches.
  • The club is open during training _stay and have a tea/coffee.

For Players

  • Try your best.
  • Always be positive.
  • Respect all players, both your team mates and the opposition.
  • Respect your coach
  • Help your coach tidy away equipment at the end of the session.
  • Make sure you have the correct gear.
  • Wear your mouth guard and shin guards.
  • Never leave the pitch without asking your coach.
  • Never leave the club/grounds without an adult you trust.
  • Most important:  HAVE FUN!

For Coaches

  • Respect the dignity, self-esteem and rights of all the children.
  • Be punctual and organized for training/games.
  • Ensure all children are involved in training and games.
  • Give positive encouragement at all times.
  • Ensure clear communication of fixtures etc to children and parents/guardians.
  • Bring any matters of concern to the attention of parents/guardians as soon as possible.
