Open to All Policy
Holycross AFC have an 'Open To All' policy when it comes to membership and we will endeavour to give equal opportunity
to every boy and girl of all abilities when it comes to training and playing. Playing numbers in the Club have grown significantly over the last few seasons putting pressure on our coaches to give
everyone playing time while also trying to improve results. To clarify Holycross AFC’s position for parents the committee
have set down the following policy to ensure the continuing improvement of the level of football played by teams
representing the club. Competitive Leagues (U12 Onwards) if the numbers in an age group exceed the permitted number allowed on the
match card: As long as a team are in a position to win the league, the coach will pick a match day squad based on ability and
performance at training and contact them to attend on the day of the match. Depending on how close the actual match is,
not all members of the match day squad are guaranteed game time. If the team is no longer in a position to win the league, the match day squad will be rotated to give all kids that do train,
game time. Again the coach can only take as many players as is permitted by the match card and those chosen for a given
match will be contacted in advance. Cup Matches (U12 Onwards) if the numbers in an age group exceed the permitted number allowed on the match
card: The coach will pick a match day squad based on ability and performance at training and contact them to attend on the day
of the match. Depending on how close the actual match is, not all members of the match day squad are guaranteed game
time.
