Clonmore’s first team kicked off the 2022 league campaign in Division 3 on Saturday evening, in near perfect conditions in Woodside, when they took on Palatine’s second string. In the opening minutes, some wayward passing from both sides may have suggested this would be a competitive affair, however this game was done and dusted after just 15 minutes, thanks to a scoring blitz from the home side.
There were scores aplenty in the opening half, thanks to complete domination from the Clonmore players, who easily picked out their man, with some very good passages of play, alternating between running at the opposing team and direct ball into a forward line that was making the most of every opportunity which included scoring 5 goals.
The second half followed suit, as Clonmore were able to give players some game time, and this also allowed those remaining the opportunity to exploit space and continue the trend.
The home side ran out emphatic winners on the night on a score line of 8-20 to 1-5, and move now to the next game against Tinryland on Thursday 7th April.
