Brandon Ryan`s Late Strike Wins Carlow Cup Semi – A game in which Slaney got off to the perfect start with a fine finish from Daniel O`Brien on 10 minutes. Pats responded within a minute and a second goal on the half hour. A rash challenge on Brandon Ryan resulted in a penalty and Dominic Byrne fired home from the spot for 2-2. The first half action wasn`t done there however and with half time looming Pats scored a third and led 3-2 at the break. The second period saw Slaney in control but without really threatening the Pats goal but the introduction of John Martin and Peter Kehoe turned the game on it` s head. With 15 minutes left John blasted home from six yards, Peter with the assist and with momentum on our side the winner arrived five minutes from time. Daniel was again involved as he set up Brandon to net the winner and book a place in the Carlow Cup final.

O35s Make It Two Wins Out Of Two – as they travelled to Parkville for a local derby and came away with a 4 nil win in a much tougher game than the scoreline suggests. The neighbours had two great chances early on to take the lead, before a defensive clearance fell to Owen Coleman about 20 yards and he produced a stunning volley that ended up in the top left-hand corner to take the lead. Before the break the evergreen Mick Foley swung in a cross from the right and it glanced off a defender`s knee to knock it past the keeper and over the line to make it 2 nil. For the first twenty minutes of the second half, Fergal Harmon was the busier of the keepers, as he was well positioned to make two good saves before Peter Kehoe scored from the penalty spot and Declan Brennan fired home from close range.

Game 3 – A great result for the lads who move onto game 3 in the league next Friday night, when they take on Bridge United at home @7.30pm
