Impressive Team Performance From The U12`s, in defeating Ballymurphy 3-1 in Rathvilly. Slaney had the best of the first half, with Dean Bowes scoring from close range on 10 minutes. Garrett Doyle let fly from outside the box on 20 minutes, with Daniel O`Neill adding a third before half time.
The highlight Of The B Team`s Midweek Trip To St. Joseph`s - was Aaron Broughall`s long range effort, which rattled their crossbar.
Club Hosted End-Of-Season U8 Blitz - U8`s season came to a close, with the venue hosting six fixtures between Slaney, Burrin Celtic and St. Joseph`s in their end-of-season Blitz. With the good weather and both pitches in top order, it led to a couple of great hours of non-stop action. So well done to all players involved, with a special mention to mentors Ger Doyle, Gary Dempsey, Kevin Sheridan and Tommy Kelly, for all their effort and time committed to training sessions etc. since last October.
New Record For Parked Cars - During the Blitz, a new record for parked vehicles with ease, in the Patrickswell car park was set at 65, while a further 26 vehicles were catered for in the overflow carpark, for the visit of the Carlow U12 league champions New Oak Boys, earlier in the day.
Condolences - Committee would like to send their condolences to wife Ann and son Pj on the sad passing of Pat Doyle, Ricketstown. Pat was one of Slaney Rovers most passionate and loyal supporters for many years and was a selector on the Premier Cup winning team of 1992/93 season, which still stands as the highest honour the club has ever won.
