Well Done To All Juvenile Coaches: With the Juvenile league taking a break for x-mas, the U12s on Saturday morning played a friendly between their Slaney Green v`s Slaney Black. The result was a cracking game of football with four well-taken goals, a penalty-save and end-to-end attacking play. Considering it is only three months into the season, great credit must be given to the managers/coaches who give up their spare time for training and match days and on the evidence of this game - it`s paying off in spades.

A Big Thank You To Peter Dunue of Dunne Construction for presenting a set of jerseys to the Slaney b Team, as recorded in this week Nationalist. Interesting to note in the photo, is the one and only Noel Ryan who also featured in the club`s first recorded team photo, way back in 1980. Back then, the background was the local Rathvilly Tennis Club court - this time around it`s the club`s own facilities.

Last Competitive Game Before Carlow Shield Final: In their last competitive game before the Carlow Shield Final, saw Slaney take the points in a 3-1 win against Ballymurphy in Rathvilly on Sunday morning. Despite conceding, shortly after the half time break, the lads got back into the game with Daniel O` Brien equalising and as the game went on, they created the more of the chances between the two sides before Aaron Broughall put the home side 2-1 up but it didn't end there, Slaney kept pushing for that 3rd goal and eventually got it with Daniel getting his 2nd and Slaney`s 3rd and final goal of the game to secure the three points to put Slaney 4th in the league.

Please Note

The prize amounts above are what each winner will receive.
