On The Juvenile Front - Having shared eight goals in their previous meeting, it was déjà vu again in Rathvilly, as a further six goals, did not decide a winner, between the U14`s and Vale Wanderers. Despite conceding early, Craig Burgess`s clever ball in behind the backline, found Taylor Ryan in space and he calmly lobbed a stranded keeper for the equaliser. A defence-splitting pass from Jack Corcoran, put Callum Brennen clear to rifle home for a 2-1 lead on 17 minutes. Slaney, now had their tails up and in three touches they scored a third, when Jack Corcoran collected a kick out from `keeper Callum Boland and again found Callum who blasted home to lead 3-1 at the break. Two late strikes from Vale meant a share of the points AGAIN!

Slaney Team Of The Week.6 - Goal Keeper: Fergal Harmon. Defence: Rory Doyle; Shane Murphy; Mick Foley; Regan Murphy. Midfield: Sean Kelly; Jack Corcoran; Sean Barrett. Forwards: Taylor Ryan; Callum Brennan; Joe Thompson.

Premier Result- A team hosted New Oak Boys and lost by the odd goal in three. New Oak were on the front foot from the off, scoring with their first shot on target on five minutes and added a second with an unstoppable shot from outside the box on 16 minutes. Gradually Slaney got going and on the half-hour mark, Shane Murphy had his effort cleared off the line and later on, Garreth Doyle`s effort rebounded to safety off the crossbar. Eventually, Slaney got the goal they deserved, following a defence splitting pass from Mick Foley, which found Joe Thompson in space and he made no mistake from six yards as he cut the lead in half.
