On The Juvenile Front- Slaney U15`s was the standout highlight of the weekend`s action with a resounding 9-1 home win over Nurney Villa, which included a hat-trick in both halves for Daragh Corcoran and equally good finishing from Cillian Molloy, Connor Doody and Oskar Breen.
Slaney Team Of The Week - Goal Keeper: Bryce Gardiner. Defence: Ruby Collier; Ryan Gibson; Sean Barrett; Joseph Gibbons. Midfield: Cillian Molloy; Connor Doody; Oisin Riordan. Forwards: Daniel O`Brien; Daragh Corcoran; Osker Breen.
Premier Result - A team returned to the Plots, on which they defeated Harps by the odd goal in three, to progress to the semi-final of Carlow Shield, exactly a month ago. Despite a brilliant strike from Daniel O`Brien and a superb well-placed header from Lubohir Lesko, it was not enough this time around, as they lost by the odd goal in five.
Ex Slaney Doing Well – Young Brandon Kelly who scored 29 goals for the club`s last juvenile league title - the U13 Div. one league (2017), played in the forward line for Hanover Harps (Premier level) on Sunday last - only four years on!
