In the Premier Slaney recorded their first ever point gained at Crettyard as both sides played out an entertaining 0-0 draw in the opening fixture. On chances Slaney shaded the first half with Eoin Curran forcing the first save, from the home `keeper on 14 minutes and Daniel O`Brien came close from an Aaron Broughall corner on 21 minutes  After the restart Cretty got a foothold and were denied by some staunch defending from Regan Murphy and Aaron Broughall but they could not find a way passed Fergal Harmon, as he dealt with everything they threw at him, with at least three memorable saves, to record the club`s first clean sheet on Cretty`s home turf.

Slaney U21`s travelled to Killeshin and shared four goals with Killeshin C. In only their first game together, they took the lead following a long-range effort from Brandon Ryan on 18 minutes. Just before the break they added a second with a super finish from Kyle Byrne on 40 minutes for 0-2 at half time. Despite `keeper Conor McGinn saving a penalty in the second half, the home side pressed and hit back with two goals to share the points.

On Saturday, it was back to action for the juveniles as the U14`s won 1-3 in Leighinbridge. They started brightly and Conor Doody scored a nicely taken opening goal on eight minutes. Ten minutes later it was 0-2 as Daragh Corcoran seized upon a loose ball and calmly lobbed the onrushing `keeper. Daragh made sure of full points when he finished a fine pass from Luca Kavanagh at the end.

Slaney Team of the Week (1) - Sept. Keeper: Fergal Harmon. Defenders: Jack Carroll; Cian Weekes; Regan Murphy; Kenneth Belio. Midfield: Connor Doody; Eoin Curran; Shane Sargent. Forwards: Kyle Byrne; Brandon Ryan; Daragh Corcoran.
