Lotto numbers drawn on Monday 2 March were 8, 14, 25 and 27 . There was no jackpot winner. There was one match three winner of €150; Patsy Coady ( 8, 19, 25 and 27). Promoter prize`s Leighton Curry. As Saturday`s juvenile fixtures were wiped out by Storm Jorge, all the action was confined to Sunday. The B team completed their first double of the season, having defeated Hanover Harps on their own turf in January 0-1, they followed that up last Sunday with a 2-1 win in Rathvilly. A super cross from Jake Elliot and a great finish from Colin Byrne put Slaney 1-0 on 25 minutes. That lead was doubled before half-time with a fine effort from Adam Byrne. Harps did pull a goal back mid-way in the second-half but the home defence held out for full points. Since the club formed 40 seasons ago, this is Slaney`s tenth season in Carlow Premier division and is by far the best, after another impressive showing from the lads, saw them move to the top of the table at the business end of the season. Hosting Dolmen Celtic in Rathvilly the lads opened their account on the half- hour mark, a neat back heel from Dominic Byrne finding the net. Five minutes later it was 2-0, Woolie turned provider when his corner was headed home by Peter Kehoe. It wasn`t all one-way traffic and Fergal Harmon had to make two good saves to preserve the lead going into the break. Fergal was called into action early in the second-half, this time saving a penalty as Dolmen applied the pressure. They reduced the arrears with a goal on 75 minutes before Daniel O`Brien got on the end of a kick-out from Fergal to head Slaney 3-1 up and collect full points. Next Sunday will decide a lot as the lads travel to second place New Oak Boys who are unbeaten in the Premier league and just two points adrift and with four games in hand, they are hot favorites for the title. Slaney Team of the Week (19) – March. Keeper: Fergal Harmon. Defenders: Colm O`Connor; Mick Foley; Regan Murphy; Aaron Broughall. Midfield: Dominic Byrne; Adam Byrne; Jake Elliot. Forwards: Daniel O`Brien; Peter Keogh; Colin Byrne.
