Lotto numbers drawn on Monday 9 September were 2, 10, 17 and 30 . There was no Jackpot winner. As there were no match three winners, €150 was shared between five lucky dips: Tom Doyle, Hacketstown; Trish Ryan, Knockroe; Liam Kavanagh, Rathdangan; Trish Harmon, Kiltegan and Michael Sibbald, Monavothe. Promoter prize`s Brian Curran. Slaney got their season off to the perfect start as they easily overcame Kilree in the Carlow Shield in Rathvilly on Sunday. The lads threatened from the start but had to wait 20 minutes for the opener, but it was worth the wait. Stephen Farrell picked up a loose ball 25 yards from goal before firing a rocket to the net for 1-0. Before the break Dominic Byrne weaved his way past three defenders before teeing up Aaron Broughall for a tap-in on 35 minutes. Within a minute of the restart Broughall got his second from the penalty spot and a late solo effort from Rory McKernan on his debut, made it 4-0 to reward the efforts of Regan Murphy, Eoin Curran and Michael Foley. This Sunday they face a tougher test when they host last season`s Premier runners-up Crettyard United in the league.
