The First round of the A League took place on Sunday in Bective. The lads got off to a decent start but a brace of goals by the hosts left us with a 2-6 0-3 deficit at the break despite playing with the breeze. The Gaels rallied well in the second half and managed to outscore the home side but unfortunately the concession of the earlier goals was the real difference here. Next up for the Gaels is St. Vincents in Round 2 in Kilcloon next Saturday.
