Harold’s Cross YFC is delighted to introduce its new members’ newsletter full of exciting news about for players, parents, and guardians about our immediate plans and some existing long term projects to improve and expand our activity.
TRAINING RETURNS - WEEK OF APRIL 26th
We are all thrilled to be able to return to non-contact training sessions at Rosary Park from Monday April 26th.
In accordance with the FAI and DDSL’s sanctioned return to training for players under 18, we will resume training for the first time since December 2020.
COVID-19 protocols will be in place and we ask that players travel to training on their own or with their own household only. Players arriving by car should be dropped off at the designated drop off point and collected after training finishes at the designated point. Players cannot enter the pitch until the previous training group have first vacated the playing area.
BUILDING A BRIGHTER SPORTING FUTURE - ARTIFICIAL PITCH AND DESIGNATED GIRLS TEAMS
The club is looking forward to consolidating and expanding its sporting activity and building on its collaboration with the local community and its new and exciting relationship with Dublin City Council.
There are two strands which are at the heart of our development plan:
The encouragement and expansion of our female playing numbers and coaching staff with the creation of girls-only teams competing in all-girls league.
The securing of funding for an all-weather pitch would facilitate year-round participation for all teams, eliminate training pitch hire costs and provide a resource to local schools and the wider community.
HAROLD'S CROSS YFC LOTTO BEGINS MAY - WIN €500 OR MORE AND SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT PLANS
To advance the club’s plans for the artificial pitch and greater playing numbers and involvement, we have secured a lotto licence and the club members, relatives and friends can all enter our secure online draw - facilitated by CLUBFORCE who run club lottos nationwide - which will be held every two weeks.
For only 5 euro, entrants could win €500 or more and all monies raised will go into the club’s fundraising account towards the provision of an all-weather pitch and improved facilities.
Further details of the LOTTO and a link to enter will be sent to members soon.
HAROLD’S CROSS SUMMER SOCCER CAMPS IN ASSOCIATION WITH THE FAI
We are really pleased to announce that we will, once again, be hosting the FAI summer soccer camps for 3 weeks in July this year.
The exact dates will be announced shortly and the club members will be able to book THROUGH THE FAI SITE in May before the site goes live to the general public in late May. The cost is €70 per child which includes kit and a ball, with discounts for siblings and extra weeks.
We will be in touch by email and also through the coaches with more details once we receive them from the FAI and its agents.
Finally, on behalf of the club committee and coaches, we would like to wish all of our players and their families the very best, as we continue to weather these most unusual and difficult circumstances. We look forward to a safe and enjoyable return to football and to a greater and fuller scope of activities in the coming months and to collaborating together to deliver our ambitious plans to build a better sporting future for the club and wider community.
