There was a positive response at the first meeting to discuss the proposed trip to New York during Easter 2025 which took place on Friday night 19th July in the clubhouse.
A good attendance heard club officer Peter Scully outline the main points and requirements for the 5-day trip commencing on Wednesday 15th of April and returning on Easter Monday 20th April.
The ballpark cost of the trip which is open to all adult players and club members and supporters is €1150 which includes flights and accommodation in the Pod Hotel Brooklyn. Tinryland will play 2 teams during the tour namely Shannon Gaels and Brooklyn Shamrocks who are part of the 40 strong New York Co board. Bennekerry/Tinryland ladies club have also expressed an interest in participating.
Among the requirements to travel will be a passport which is valid for at least 6 months after entry in to the U.S.A. and an Esta form which is an online visa requirement to enter the U.S. This can be completed on a night in the clubhouse prior to travelling.
To make the trip viable at least 20 adult players will have to travel.
A follow up meeting will take place on Tuesday 30th July at 9.30 p.m.
