Ballinabrackey travelled down to Skryne on Wednesday evening for their first game of Senior Football. Skryne got the first two scores on the board with a point from play and a free in the first minute of the game. Missed points from both sides then led to another Skryne point. The Bracks got their first score with a point from a Seamus Curry Free. The Bracks fell behind as Skryne powered on with 3 points and a goal. Damien Carroll kicked a point just before the water break. Then, Seán Kavanagh rattled the back of the next with a great goal as they returned on to the field. The Bracks continued to add to this with a score from Danny Quinn. Skryne responded very quickly with another ball in the back of the net. More points from Skryne and a Ballinabrackey point from Seamus Curry left the half time score as 1:04 to 2:07 to Skryne. Ballinabrackey were quick to add on scores at the start of the second half with points from Curry, Quinn and David Carroll. Harry Rooney moved the ball well throughout the field causing two more Skryne points from frees. Ballinabrackey dominated the third quarter with points from Quinn, Curry and Carroll again. Skryne continued to add to their tally with two more points from play. Two frees from Seamus Curry and Danny Quinn saw the last scores for the Bracks as a good block from Skryne stopped a potential goal effort for the Bracks. The final score was Skryne 2:11 to Ballinabrackey 1:12.
