Moneygall GAA

Presentation Dinner: Our victorious Moneygall/Clonakenny minor teams of 2016 will be presented with their medals in Dunkerrin Community Centre this Saturday night. Photographs will be taken at 6.30pm, followed by Mass at 7.30pm, and the meal will be served at 8.15pm. The three course meal will cost just €10 per person, thanks to the generous sponsorship from Mulrooney Gala, Roscrea. Please contact either Pat Sheedy or John Fogarty to book your ticket.



Player of the Year Awards: Congratulations to Adam Hogan who received the North Tipp Minor Hurler of the Year Award at the presentation function held in Ballycommon last Friday night. Congrats also to Alexei Harty who was presented with the North Tipp Minor Footballer of the Year Award. 



Juvenile AGM: The juvenile committee AGM took place on Friday 6th January. Thanks to all those who attended. Our Officers and Committee for 2017 are as follows: Chairperson – Martin Carroll; Secretary – John Bolger; PRO –Tomás Kenneally; Equipment Officers – Colette Toohey & Deirdre Ryan; Reps to Senior Committee – John Bolger, Martin Carroll & Tomás Kenneally; Reps to Amalgamation Committee – Martin Carroll & John Bolger; Reps to North Board – Pat Murray, John Bolger &  Martin Carroll; Other Committee Members – Pat Sheedy, Kevin Maher, Una Teehan, Francis Gleeson, Jim Hoolan, Noel Ryan, Kevin McCormack, Paddy Whyte & Paul Smyth. Congratulations to our new chairman Martin Carroll on his appointment and we wish him well during his term as chairperson. Thanks to our outgoing Chairperson Paddy Whyte for all his work over the past 3 years.



Lotto AGM: The lotto committee AGM will take place on Tuesday 24th January at 9pm. All are welcome.



Membership: Players membership can now be paid, and rates for 2017 are as follows – Adult Player €50; Student Player €20; Player & Partner/Family €60.  



Five Year Plan: The first annual review of our Five Year Plan will take place in the Séamus Ó Riain Centre on Wednesday 1st February at 8pm. All members of the focus groups are requested to attend, and all club members are also welcome.



St Stephen’s Day Walk: A big crowd turned out to take part in our Annual Charity Walk on St Stephen’s morning. €381 was raised for our parish Social Services group. Many thanks to all who took part in or contributed to the fundraiser. 



Reunion: It has been decided to hold a reunion function for the victorious Moneygall and Moneygall/Toomevara football teams of the 1960s. The event will be held in the Autumn.



Health & Safety Audit: An inspection of our health and safety plan was completed recently. Apart from a few minor improvements needed, we got a clean bill of health. 



Walking Club: Dunkerrin Parish Walking Club continue to meet at the playground carpark in Moneygall on Monday and Thursday evenings at 7.30pm. The next daytime walk will take place in Dunkerrin village on Sunday 29th January, starting at 2.30pm.



Lotto: Our jackpot has now reached €14,600. You can buy your tickets for just €2 each through the Club Lotto section of our website. Many thanks to all our lotto players and promoters for your continued support.
