Football: Eastern Division U16 League Div 1 Rathmore 5-10 to Legion 3-12 (Match Report)



Rathmore had the brighter start in this lively affair played in a wet Rathbeg pitch. With Dean Fitzgerald to the fore in the first half and some excellent defending by Killian O Sullivan and Fergal O Connor, Rathmore led by 10 points with 15 minutes on the clock. Legion however settled into the game with some ...good passages of play leaving just 3 points between the sides at half time. An entertaining second half ensued as Rathmore, aided by some great positional play by Darragh O Callaghan, began to pull away after a well taken Ian Cremin goal. However a Legion penalty meant that Rathmore had it all to do up to the final whistle and after a hard fought victory the game ended on a score line of 5-10 to 3-12.
