Hurling: Lee Strand Co. League U12 Div 3 Rathmore 5-03 to Kenmare 1-01 (Match Report)



Kenmare came to Rathbeg to take on Rathmore in the first round of the Lee Strand U12 County League Division 3. Rathmore started off strongly in the first half with Ian O’Connor and Alan Dineen dominant in defence for Rathmore. A long range point from O’Connor and another from Killian Cronin accompanied by an 2-0...1 from Paudie O’Leary and 2-00 from James Darmody left Rathmore leading comfortably 4-03 to no score at half time. Kenmare never gave up and improved in the second half scoring 1-01 and Alan Dineen and his full back partner Liam McSherry were called upon to repel the Kenmare attacks on several occasions. A second half goal from Sean Burke O’Donoghue killed off the game and Rathmore ran out winners on a score line of 5-03 to 1-01 with a fine debut performance from Sean Kennedy.
