Pettigo GAA Club is no doubt one of the oldest Clubs in Donegal, founded in 1912, a mere 6 years after the County Board and Team that was established in 1906. Pettigo GAA has never owned its own pitch and as such its facilities have always been rather sparse to say the least and the Club has played on various fields around the town over the years. In the late 1860s Pettigo had a population of over 4500 a far cry from todays count of around 500! We are a proud community and regardless of our size we have always endeavoured to stand tall and make our mark. We have had periods of success over the years in various competitions but regardless of win, lose or draw we fully recognise the true value of community and firmly believe that taking part is far more important! We stand as one and we play as one! As we move forward, establishing a firm and solid base for our Club is of the utmost importance, ownership of a well presented and professional pitch alongside a modern day facility is to say the least, long overdue! To be able to achieve our full potential we require the efforts of not only our Committee and Team but of the entire Community as a whole. By becoming a “Friend of Pettigo GAA” you can play a part in developing the club and securing our future for the next generation.
