York RLFC Foundation FUTURE STARS (Feb/April 2023)

Introduce your child to Primary Rugby League through our Future Stars programme. Discover the basics in a fun, enjoyable and safe environment. This session is suitable for children in Key stage1 and 2 to take place at the LNER Community Stadium.

These sessions are suitable for children who want to take part in fun, weekly, non-contact sessions where they can be introduced to some of the basic skills associated with our sport and hopefully grow in confidence, with some going on to join a community club if they aren’t already at one. To achieve this, we put the fundamental of movement at the forefront of our sessions. Sessions are structured around the concept of play, allowing children to explore and discover different ways to move, whilst teaching how to catch, pass, kick, run with the ball and play as part of a team. We see this as a step towards a lifelong involvement with sport and physical activity by developing a positive outlook on physical activity.  Children should wear suitable indoor clothing and footwear and bring a water bottle.

Monday 20th February x 6 weeks
5:00pm – 6:00pm
LNER Community Stadium, Kathryn Avenue, Monks Cross Dr, Huntington, York YO32 9AF.
This session is suitable for children currently in school years 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.
