YCK DISABILITY RUGBY LEAGUE The York City Knights Disability Rugby League club offers an adaption of the traditional game developed to allow those with disabilities to enjoy the game of Rugby League. Our current squad has a wide range of ages, abilities and backgrounds and welcomes new players with either physical or learning difficulties. Face to face Sessions to return We are delighted to be able to offer a return of face-to-face sessions with a new training time of Wednesday’sevenings. Our weekly sessions will commence with first session starting on Wednesday 12th May 6:30pm – 7:30pm. The long-awaited return comesafter the disruption of the past 12 months. In recent months, we have been preparing for the return of the 2021 season by running weekly online sessions, but this is now the next step in returning to normality. Sessions are free of charge and take place at York St John Sports Park, Haxby Road, YO31 8TA. The emphasis of our sessions is on inclusion and enjoyment and to provide a team-sport experience to those who would previously may not have had such an opportunity. Our sessions are generally non-competitive and completely inclusive. LDRL activities are delivered with a view to developing the participants skills and confidence while providing new challenges and opportunities. As of 2021, our programme now offers participants the opportunity to incorporates playing Rugby League with the Mencap Round the World Challenge (RTWC).
