Athlone Boat Club CLG, which is affiliated to Rowing Ireland, is centrally located on the banks of the River Shannon. Since 1837 the club has been providing rowing coaching to youths, both female and male, and rowing facilities for senior and master's oars people.

We currently have a total membership of 140, of which 70% are youths. Our present club is not fit for purpose and we have decided to build a new club on the present site, thereby extending our boat storage space and providing indoor rowing facilities and dressing rooms. The New Development Build has commenced and is due to be finished in Feb 2021.

We have been very fortunate to receive grant aid from the National Sports Capital programme and from LEADER, however we do need to provide €120,000 of match funding and great efforts are underway to raise these funds.

Our three-year development draw is entering its final year and we thank all who participated in years one and two.  The monthly draw will recommence on 30th September 2020 and follow on monthly from there. Payment details are included in the link below.
