ADULT - CODE OF CONDUCT
Objective: To foster and develop as Footballers / Hurlers to the best of one’s ability, fully
participating in all Club activities, striving at all times to uphold the proud tradition of Nemo
Rangers Hurling & Football Club.
- I understand the personal data on this form (“Personal Data”) will be used by the Club and the GAA for the contractual purpose of registering (or re-registering) and maintaining my Membership.
- I understand that the Personal Data will be retained by the Club and the GAA for such period as my Membership subsists.
- I understand that I can resign my Membership by writing to the Club or the GAA and my Personal Data will then be erased.
- I understand that my Personal Data will also be used for administrative purposes to maintain my Membership including club and team administration, registrations, teamsheets, referee reports, disciplinary matters, Injury Reports, transfers, sanctions, permits and for statistical purposes.
- I understand that if I do not provide my Personal Data my Membership cannot be registered with the Club and the GAA.
- I am aware that a club members/guardians photograph or video image may be taken whilst attending or participating in games or activities connected with the Club and I consent to it being used by the Club for items like match programmes, year books, match reports, event reports or on the Club website or social media channels.
- I am aware that the club may contact me to provide me with details of matches, meetings, events and of fundraising activities including lotto, social occasions, ticket sales etc
- I subscribe to and undertake to further the aims and objectives of the Club and of Cumann Lúthchleas Gael (The Gaelic Athletic Association) and to abide by its Rules and code of conduct set out below.
Players Responsibilities
• Show appropriate respect for fellow Team Members and the Opposition Team, Officials
and Coaches
• Show respect for Match Officials and accept their decisions graciously
• Contact Managers / Selectors if unavailable for matches or training
• Be punctual for all fixtures and training sessions
• Avoid the use of coarse and abusive language
• Be very aware of your position as a Role Model to Under-Age Players, ensuring that
your conduct both on and off the field does not bring the Club into disrepute
• Be aware of the Anti-Doping Code incorporated in the Official Guide of the G.A.A.

• Always remember that you have a duty of care to your opponents. Play hard but fairly
and within the rules
• Under no circumstance should Players wear Jewellery i.e. Rings, watches, bracelets etc.
during games or at training
• Do not fake injury with the intention of having an opposing player sent off.
• Do not leave your position on the field to get involved, in any way, in an incident
elsewhere on the field
• Do not verbally or otherwise, abuse any player or person involved with the opposing
team on the grounds of race or colour. Such behaviour is unethical and against the law
• Always respect the facilities made available to you, both at Nemo Rangers and away
from home
• Acquaint yourself fully with the rules of Gaelic Games and adhere to the letter and spirit
of these rules
• Return all jerseys, tracksuits, etc. to Coaches immediately after Training/Garners
• Leave dressing rooms clean and tidy after use
• Remove all gear bags / playing gear from dressing rooms immediately after use
Team Responsibilities
• Be aware that they are representing Nemo Rangers Hurling & Football Club and its
standing in the G.A.A.
• Remember that in the event of teams losing in finals, players remain on the pitch until
after the presentations have been made
• Return immediately to the Club in the event of winning a final to commence the
celebrations
• Any trophies won by Nemo Rangers should be returned immediately to the club and
placed in the trophy cabinet
• While alcohol is an accepted part of socialising and celebration under no circumstance
should it lead to unruly/aggressive behaviour in the club or its environs
• The Clubs Code of Conduct must be adhered to in the event of traveling away from
home.
Mentors Responsibilities
• Always remember that you are representing Nemo Rangers Hurling and Football Club,
not just yourself or your team
• Condemn the use of violence in all forms at every opportunity
• The importance of winning must never supersede the player’s safety and welfare
• Do not verbally or otherwise, abuse any player or person involved with the opposing
team on the grounds of race or colour. Such behaviour is unethical and against the law
• Respect match officials and don't let bad decisions deflect you from running the team
• Avoid using abusive language towards players in your charge, match officials or indeed
in all situations. Such language reduces your credibility
• Keep informed about sound principles of coaching and team development techniques
• Provide the Registrar with a detailed Team List
• Acquaint themselves fully with the playing rules as per "Trefoir Oifiguil" for the relevant
code i.e. Camogie, Football, Hurling or Ladies Football.
• Ensure that under no condition can an illegal, suspended, over-age or unregistered player
be used in any competitive Club game
• Ensure that transfers into / out of the Club are dealt with correctly and that the Club
Secretary has been consulted.
• Ensure that all players, mentors and selectors are fully paid up and registered
• Ensure that all equipment is accounted for before and after training sessions and matches
• Under no circumstance should Players wear Jewellery i.e. rings, watches, bracelets etc.
during games or at training
• Make adequate provision for First Aid and keep a record of all injuries
• Ensure a representative from the Selection Committee is present at Activities
• Ensure that any breaches of the Players Rules are brought to the attention of the
Activities Committee
• Ensure the opposition mentors, appointed referee and Club Secretary are notified in the
event of being unable to field a team for a Club game, well in advance of the appointed
time
• Ensure that a visit to the opposition team dressing room after championship games and
league play-offs take place and offer suitable words of sympathy / Congratulations
• Be aware of the Anti-Doping Code incorporated in the Official Guide of the G.A.A.

• While alcohol is an accepted part of socializing and celebration under no circumstance
should it lead to unruly or aggressive behaviour in the club or its environs
Objective: To fully participate and enjoy all activities of Nemo Rangers Hurling & Football
Club.
Members Responsibilities:
• Show appropriate respect for Club Officials and Fellow Members
• Ensure your subscription is paid by the designated date
• Respect Club property
• Respect all employed Staff of Nemo Rangers Hurling & Football Club and Trabeg
Leisure Centre
• Avoid any misconduct or undue noise
• Realise that young people are an integral part of Nemo Rangers Hurling and Football
Club and members should conduct themselves in an appropriate manner in their presence
• Encourage fellow members and supporters to observe the ethos of Nemo Rangers and
encourage them to abide by the Code of Conduct
• Support all Fundraising activities organised by Nemo Rangers Hurling and Football Club
• Be aware of the Anti-Doping Code incorporated in the Official Guide of the G.A.A.

• While alcohol is an accepted part of socializing and celebration under no circumstance
should it lead to unruly or aggressive behaviour in the club or its environs
• Under no circumstances should minor players be served alcohol on the club premises
• Both Parents and Members should note that the purchase of alcohol in Nemo Rangers for
a minor is strictly prohibited
Supporters / Spectators Responsibilities:
• Always remember you are supporting Nemo Rangers at any match you attend
• Don't use foul or abusive language at matches as children may be present
• Support players and mentors rather than slate them
• Show respect for Match Officials and Opposing Teams
• Be careful of intervening to break up any altercation during a game as your intentions
may be misinterpreted.
• It is the duty of all members of Nemo Rangers (and the Parents of members aged less
than 18 years) to familiarise themselves with all the rules of the club and, in particular to
ensure that they leave read and understood the Code of Conduct as outlined above.
• The Executive Committee of Nemo Rangers has the power to deal with any breaches of
this code by players, mentors or other members as it sees fit, up to the ultimate sanction
of banning the offending individuals or teams from all club activities and revoking their
membership of Nemo Rangers
Rules:
1) Any player who fails to report for a match for which he has been duly notified without an
acceptable excuse shall be suspended from whichever game Hurling or Football the
offence occurred in as follows:
1st Offence 1 Match
2nd Offence 2 Matches
3rd Offence 4 Matches
2) Any player who participates in any other field game, other than inter-county, colleges,
inter-firm, school or third level commitments within 7 days of a championship fixture,
semi-finals and final of a secondary competition shall be suspended. This applies also to
a player who plays on the morning of a league fixture. The suspensions are as follows:
1st Offence 1 Match
2nd Offence 2 Matches
3rd Offence 4 Matches
Any further offence will be dealt with by the Activities Committee
3) Club colours must be worn for all matches (White Nicks and Green Socks)
4) All Players must wear hurling helmets at training and matches. All Players must wear
mouth guards at training and matches
5) All fines for Urinating on pitches will be the responsibility of the individual concerned.
6) Permission for Physiotherapy treatment following injury in Club Games or Training
Sessions must be made through the Selectors and approved by the Club Secretary.
Any breaches of the Club Rules by a Non-Playing members shall be dealt with by the
Executive Committee
