                      Tinryland G.F.C. Notes

Our senior team reached the league final on Sunday last at Netwatch Cullen Park after a comfortable victory in the end over a gritty St. Patricks team. Goals from Cillian Fagan, Shane Redmond and Conor O’Toole were the catalyst for this win and the team will now face Eire Og in the final on a date to be arranged. Tinryland last won the division 1 league 55 years ago in 1968.

At underage level it was a quiet week with our U17 team defeating Fenagh at Rathcrogue while our U11 development squads were in action against Palatine.

In the coming week our players of the future at U7 and U9 level will play in a 3 team blitz on this Wednesday 31st May in Rathcrogue commencing at 7 p.m. The other teams in action will be Eire Og and Asca.

Ticket sales are moving well for the upcoming club development draw. Teams of sellers from the club will be calling to all residents of our community looking for support for this fundraiser which commences with the first draw on July 3rd.

Sympathy is extended to Mick Murphy and the extended Murphy family on the passing of Dan Murphy Kyleballyhue on Friday last. The Murphy family have a long association with Tinryland G.F.C.

Dan Murphy’s funeral takes place this Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church Tinryland.

Congratulations to club member and local Tinryland A.C. sprinter Adam Murphy who continued his good early season form by winning the Leinster senior 200m at the SETU campus on Sunday last. Adam’s time for the 200m was 22.05.

The club lotto jackpot now stands at €2200 and can be played via the club force app or by purchasing a ticket for the Monday night draws from any committee member.
