2020 Junior 'C' C'ship Semi-Final: Clonmore 4-13 Tinryland 2-5

On a sweltering hot evening in Fenagh, Clonmore raced into an early lead of 2-4 to 0-1 by the first water break.

Building on a very solid backline and dominating possession all over the field, it was the full-forward line which did most damage. Corner forwards Sean Tompkins and Conor McCarney were on fire and Sean T helped himself to 1-2 in the first quarter while Conor won possession time after time and, while didn't score himself, he used his great pace to round his man and set up scores for his team-mates.

In the second quarter, the solid midfield partnership of Willie & Paddy Byrne got on the scoresheert with impressive points as did the hard working Kevin McCarney and Collie McGrath. The half-time score was 3-7 to 0-2.

Clonmore slackened off in the third quarter allowing Tinryland a glimmer of hope and their best players, No.19 Conor Brennan and No.14 Jack Lowry, were causing serious problems. By the 37th minute Tinryland had reduced the arrears from 14 points to 9 with a scoreline of 3-8 to 1-5. However, the impressive Jamie Walsh kicked three points in a row to steady the ship and leave the score 3-11 to 1-5 at the water break.

From there to the end it was mainly one way traffic and substitute Darren "Dazzler" McGrath scored a trade mark goal - a rocket to the bottom corner - to put the icing on the cake. In the Final we will play the winners of MLR V St Patrick's which takes place on Saturday next 24 July at 4.30pm in Fenagh TC. The Final is fixed for Friday 30 July at 7.30pm in Netwatch Cullen Park.
