Tinryland G.F.C. club Notes Easter Weekend 19th April 2025
It was a quiet week on the playing front with only 2 teams in action from Tinryland.
Our 3rd adult squad who are competing in the Carlow Credit union division 5 put up their best performance away to St. Patricks on Wednesday last only losing out by 4 points in the end to the home team. Outstanding for Tinryland were Mark Dempsey, Eoin Townsend, Jack Murphy, Shay McCullough, Luke Broderick and Cian McCreanor. This team will be back in action on this coming Wednesday 23rd April at home to Mount Leinster Rangers at 7.30 p.m.
Our senior team will we seeking their 4th win in the division 1 league away to Clonmore on Easter Monday evening at 7 p.m.
Our junior team will host Ballon in the S.F.L. division 3 on this coming Tuesday 22nd April at 7.30 p.m.
At U16 level Tinryland had a comfortable win over Eire Og’s 2nd team in the Spring League on Thursday last. Tinryland U12 team will be away to Grange in the Cental mini league at 3.15 p.m. on Saturday next 26th April.
3 Tinryland players namely Mikey Byrne, Callum O’Brien Murphy and Cathal Purcell were part of the Carlow minor team that recently defeated both Wicklow and Wexford in the Leinster M.F.C. Carlow will now face Westmeath in the next round on this Thursday 24th April.
Ross Moran will be part of the Carlow U20 squad that play Offaly away on Tuesday next 22nd April in the Andrew Corden Cup at 7.30 p.m.
Tinryland G.F.C. club sponsor Electric Avenue recently supplied new home and away jerseys for all underage and adult teams in the club.
The club lotto jackpot currently stands at €10,000 and can be played online via the club force app or by purchasing a ticket for €2 or 3 for €5 from any committee member. The lotto draw on Easter Monday evening will take place at the later time of 9.30 p.m. due to the S.F.L. Division 1 game in Clonmore at 7 p.m. Last weeks lucky dip winners were: Tina Delaney, Claire Kelly, Peter Whelan and Jody and Eddie Townsend.
