Our senior team made it 3 wins from four games played in this year’s Carlow Credit Union division 1 on Friday last when they had a comfortable win over Old Leighlin in Rathcrogue.
With 3 games left in the league the senior team has a good chance of making the knockout stages if they can get something out of the remaining games with Clonmore, St Patricks and Eire Og. Outstanding for Tinryland against Old Leighlin were Ross Moran, Michael Hosey, Shane Redmond, Jamie Walker, Lorcan O’Connor and Danny Moran.
Our junior team struggled for numbers in their division 3 game against our neighbours Fighting Cocks but despite losing by 2-17 to 0-8 there were good performances from Matthew Gleeson, Glen Doyle, Padraic Whelan and Tomas Murphy.
At juvenile level our Feile team took part in the Carlow John West Feile competition last week. On Tuesday last they defeated Grange and lost out to Mount Leinster Rangers which qualified the team for a quarter final against Fenagh on Saturday last. After a close game at the Netwatch training Centre Tinryland exited the Feile by the minimum margin on a scoreline of 0-4 to 0-3.
