Tinryland G.F.C. club notes April 6th 2025
The past week was a quiet one on the playing front with only 2 teams from the club in action.
On Sunday last the U14s lost out by 3 points to our neighbours Palatine in a very exciting game in Rathcrogue.
At adult level Tinryland succeeded in fielding a 3rd team for the 3rd consecutive week thanks to the hard work of mentors Ger Broderick and Eamonn O’Sullivan and despite losing to unbeaten Old Leighlin there were lots of positives to take out of the game.
In the coming week 6 different teams from the club will be in action. On tomorrow Monday our U18 team will be at home to Fenagh in the spring league with a 7 p.m. throw in.
On Tuesday next 8th April Tinryland will host some of the Feile Peil na Nog games with the home team taking on Grange at 7.15 p.m. and Mount Leinster Rangers at 8 p.m.
The Junior C team will play another game in division 5 away to Railyard in Moneenroe at 7 p.m. on this coming Wednesday.
Our senior team will be looking for another win in the S.F.L. division 1 at home to Old Leighlin at 7.30 p.m. on Friday next while our Junior team will host Fighting Cocks on Saturday next at 7.30 p.m.
Tinryland U12s will play their first game in the Cental mini league at home to Michael Davitts on Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m.
There was a very successful fundraiser for our Feile team held on Saturday last when the Feile squad received their kit sponsored by club sponsors Electric Avenue. 15 teams took part in a fun table quiz with victory going to the Doyle family team of Gregg, Fiona, Ava and Conall.
The South East Sevens tournament which will take place in June and July was launched on Friday last with a live broadcast on social media. Over 90 teams took part in last year’s tournament and this year there will also be a senior section for men and women. Further details of this event can be found on the Tinryland G.F.C. facebook page. Clubs are advised to enter as soon as possible as places are filling up fast.
Little Hoops training will continue on this Wednesday evening at 6.30 p.m.
The club lotto jackpot continues to stand at €10,000 and can be played online via the club force app or by purchasing a ticket for the Monday draw from any committee member. Last week’s lucky dip winners were: Adam Murphy, Trish Purcell, Catherine Murphy and Mick Murphy.
