 Tinryland G.F.C. Club Notes February 23rd 2025

The adult Carlow league fixtures were released in the past week. Tinryland will compete in Division1 and division 3

The opening game in division 1 will be away to Rathvilly on Friday 14th March but this fixture could be re-arranged as it clashes with the Bennekerry/Tinryland All Ireland winners dinner dance.

After the opening day 1 fixture Tinryland will be at home to Bagenalstown Gaels on Friday 21st March and away to our neighbours Palatine on Friday 28th March.

The Tinryland junior team will compete in division 3 this year and will open their league campaign on Saturday 15th March at home to Palatine before a home game with O’Hanrahans on Saturday 22nd March and an away game with Mount Leinster Rangers on Saturday 29th March.

Training for junior and senior teams will be held every Tuesday evening with the Junior team training on their own on Thursdays and the seniors on Fridays.

Underage training for U8, U10, U12 and U14 players will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6.30 p.m.

U16 and U18 players will have coaching sessions at 7.30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The U14 teams will commence their season on Sunday 16th March at 11.am.

Well done to Tinryland club members Marcus Lawler and Adam Murphy who filled the top 2 positions in the mens 200m at the National Indoor athletic championships on Saturday last.

Congratulations to our sister club Bennekerry/Tinryland and to player Ruth Bermingham who were among the award winners at the Nationalist Sports star awards night held in the Dolmen Hotel on Friday last. The Bennekerry/Tinryland club will hold its victory dinner dance in the Lord Bagenal hotel Leighlinbridge on Friday 14th March. Tickets are available from Yvonne at 0857374939 or Sinead at 0860226141. Tasha will be in the clubhouse on this Sunday evening from 7.30 p.m to 8.30 p.m. and on Friday next at the same times with tickets for the function.

Congratulations to club sponsor Shay Byrne who launched his Electric Avenue brand on Friday last.

The club lotto still stands at €10,000 and tickets for the Monday draw can be purchased via the clubforce app or by purchasing from any committee member. Last Mondays lucky dip winners were: Geraldine Gannon-Deane, Aoife Kavanagh, J, B and K Deane and Aoife and Kyle c/o Rasher.
