Gold and silver at National Indoor athletics championships for 2 Tinryland GFC members

Day 1 at the national indoor athletics championships at the sport Ireland campus proved to be a brilliant one for Tinryland club members when the gold and silver medals in the 200m were won by Marcus Lawler and Adam Murphy.

Marcus in the colours of Clonliffe Harriers scorched to victory in a season’s best time and championship record of 20.74 seconds having qualified as the fastest runner of eleven heats with a 21.01 clocking. Adam in the Tinryland A.C. singlet was a very easy winner of heat 3 in a season’s best of 21.76 and he improved on this time in the final to get the better of Crusaders A.C. runner Luke Timlin with a time of 21.75.

Another Tinryland GFC member Eanna Dunican running in the colours of St. Laurence O’Toole A.C. will be in action on day 2 tomorrow Sunday when he lines up in the 60m heats against some of Irelands fastest sprinters. Tinryland G.F.C. wishes Eanna the best of luck and extends congratulations to Marcus and Adam.
