St Lomans Mullingar Club Notes 10/02/2025:
Dinner Dance:
This Friday night (14th) our dinner dance will take place in the Bloomfield House Hotel at 6.30pm,. We are delighted to have Darren Frehill as MC and the Raggle Taggle Gypsies on music for the night. It’s great to be celebrating our senior men’s and ladies for both completing the league and championship double. Tickets are €50, please contact Alan Bracken or Ciara Blundell if interested.
Congratulations:
Massive congratulations to everybody involved with Colaiste Mhuire after their thrilling 3-10 to 1-13 win against Ardscoil Na Tríonóide, Athy in the Leinster ‘A’ Senior football final in Tullamore on Saturday.
The game went to extra time but Paul Keating’s improvised goal after Oisin O’Hara’s effort dropped short proved crucial and the Mullingar school held out for a deserved victory.
Special congratulations to the Blues contingent of Mikey Weir, Oisin O’Hara, Eoin Meehan, Sean Byrne - who scored two crucial points in extra time - Beau Greene and Sean Brennan but club allegiances aren’t important on days like this and we wholeheartedly congratulate everybody associated with the team.
Our former player, Jim Thornton, was a proud observer when his son Matthew lifted the cup.
It’s the school’s first success in this grade since 1983 and gives football in Westmeath a huge boost
