Tinryland G.F.C. club notes 17th August 2024
After almost four months of inactivity the adult footballers in our club will finally get a taste of competitive action in the coming week.
On Friday next 23rd August Tinryland senior footballers will open their Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai senior football championship against Old Leighlin in Netwatch Cullen park at the unusual time of 8.35 p.m. The seniors will then play their 2nd championship game on Saturday 31st August in Netwatch Cullen park against Bagenalstown Gaels with a 7.30 p.m. throw in.
On next Saturday 24th August Tinryland junior footballers will open their Talbot Hotel J. F. championship at home to Fighting Cocks with the throw in timed for 7 p.m.
The juniors 2nd outing in the championship will be another home game with Leighlinbridge on Friday 30th August.
Supporters should note that no cash will be taken at the turnstiles in Netwatch Cullen park for the Carlow S.F.C. campaign. Tap and go cards will be accepted and tickets can also be purchased online.
Despite losing to Eire Og by 4-14 to 2 14 Tinryland minors showed a lot of improvement in last Mondays game. The minors will be back in action away to Grange on Monday 26th August at 7 p.m.
Tinryland U16s will be away to Bagenalstown Gaels in McGrath Park on Thursday next 22nd August at 7 p.m.
Tinryland U14 team will be away to Michael Davitts in Old Leighlin on Sunday 25th August at 11 a.m.
The next meeting to progress the proposed trip to New York during Easter 2025 will take place at 9 p.m. on this coming Tuesday 20th August at 9 p.m. All those intending to travel are urged to attend. Deposits will be required in the next two weeks.
Tickets have now been distributed to the various teams for the club development draw in conjunction with Carlow Co. board. All sellers should note the revised draw dates. The first draw will now take place on Monday 9th September with draw number 2 fixed for Monday 30th September. The October draw will be held on Monday 28th October while the final draw is scheduled for Monday 25th November.
Our club will feature prominently in the photographic exhibition “Tinryland past and present” which will be held in Tinryland parish hall on this coming weekend.The exhibition which launches at 7.30 p.m. on Friday 23rd August will also open on Saturday 24th between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and on Sunday 25th August between 10.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m.
The club lotto jackpot currently stands at €8500 and can be played online via the club force app or by purchasing a ticket from any committee member. Last weeks lucky dip winners were: Bernie Whelan, Enid Delaney, Regina White and Caroline Fields.
