Tinryland G.F.C. Club Notes 28th July 2024
A 2nd meeting to progress the proposed trip to New York during Easter 2025 will take place in the clubhouse at 9 15 p.m. on this Tuesday 30th July. The trip which is open to adult players, club members and supporters will take in 2 games against Shannon Gaels and Brooklyn Shamrocks during the 5- day trip that will commence on Wednesday 15th April 2025. All those who are seriously considering travelling are urged to attend this meeting.
It was a quiet week on the playing front as our U16 match against Castledermot on Thursday last was postponed and will take place on this coming Thursday 1st August in Rathcrogue at 7 p.m.
Our minor U18 team will be away to St Martins in Ballon on Tomorrow Monday 29th July at 7 p.m.
The dates for the Michael Lyng Motors Carlow S.F.C. were released during the past week.
Tinryland seniors will begin their championship campaign against Old Leighlin on week-ending 25th August followed by further group games against Bagenalstown Gaels on week-ending 1st September and against Mount Leinster Rangers on week-ending 8th September. The quarter finals of the S.F.C. are scheduled for week-ending 15th September with the semi-finals listed for week-ending 22nd September. The Michael Lyng Motors Senior football final will take place on Sunday 6th October.
The Junior (A) football championship will be played on the same weekends as the senior championship with Tinryland drawn in Group 2 against Fighting Cocks, Leighlinbridge and Ballon with the first 2 games against Fighting Cocks and Leighlinbridge at home and the final group game against Ballon away.
Tinryland hosted the 2 Carlow Junior Hurling championship semi-finals on Saturday last when Mount Leinster Rangers defeated Ballinkillen and Burren Rangers beat St. Mullins.
The club lotto jackpot currently stands at €8200 and can be played online via the club force app or by purchasing a ticket from any committee member. Last weeks lucky dip winners were: Conor O’Toole, David Donegan, Michael Ryan and Angela and Declan Carey.
