Leader Cup Semi Final V Colmcille

Our Senior team recorded a fantastic victory over Colmcille on Sunday last in the Leader Cup semi-final. Killoe got off to a brilliant start when a searching ball forward in the opening minute found Larry Moran on the edge of the square and he turned sharply to stick the ball into the bottom of the goals. Points were exchanged by both sides and Killoe were unlucky not to get a second goal when a Larry Moran shot was brilliantly saved. Colmcille gained momentum after the water break and pulled back the score to see both sides level at half time. It was advantage Killoe for most of the second half until Colmcille found the back of the net after the water break. Killoe rallied well though and points from Larry Moran and Cian Dooner ensured extra time was needed with the scores at 1-12 each. Some great scores were taken by both sides but it was advantage Colmcille when Gavin Hughes was sent off for a black card offence with a minute to go in extra time. Killoe didn’t panic though, and worked the ball forward to Larry Moran who hit an excellent point to draw the game level again. A penalty shootout was required, a first ever in Emmet Park. Larry Moran, James Moran, Daniel Mimnagh, Cian Dooner and Michael Quinn all converted their penalties excellently while Colmcille hit the upright to give Killoe the Victory. Well done to the team and management.

Upcoming Fixtures

Our Senior team take on St. Columbas Mullinalaghta on Sunday next in the Leader Cup Final in Pearse Park. Time to be confirmed.

Kind Regards
