Welcome to this week's club news and lotto results e-zine

U-8 BLITZ An Tochar, St Pats, Rathnew and Éire Óg gathered together in Rathnew for the latest Go-Games u-8 blitz and served up an entertaining evening of football.

Éire Óg brought 2 teams to the event, both of which proved well up to the opposition. If only our lads could carry this kind of form into later adolescence! Despite what its detractors may say Gaelic football is a demanding game skillwise and can only be enjoyed after attaining a degree of mastery in these skills. The Go-Games are intended as a low intensity, enjoyable and non-competitive pathway to these basic skill levels and as such they seem to be having their desired effect on this group of players who have shown a great improvement in their play over the season so far.

GOLF CLASSIC Éire Óg Na Clocha Liatha is having its Golf Classic in the beautiful surrounds that are Greystones Golf Club on Friday 8th August. The cost is 200 euro per team of 4 and includes barbeque food on the 9th and a full meal in the clubhouse later. There are excellent prizes on offer and all levels of golfers are welcome. Tee-times may be booked through Anthony Byrne at 087-8188871. At this juncture of financial precariousness for the club, the success of this event is very important so we would be most appreciative of your support.

WEEKLY LOTTO: The club’s weekly lotto jackpot has spiralled to the heady hits of €11,000. This week’s winning numbers were 3, 7, 16, 26.

KELLOGG'S FOOTBALL CÚL CAMP In excess of 150 children, boys and girls, attended last week's camp which was hosted by Éire Óg and the satisfaction rating was high. Camp co-ordinator, Colm Gaskin, said that he didn't receive a single moan from either a parent or a child. Participants in these camps, besides being afforded more than 20 hours of tuition, are supplied with a very attractive 'goody-bag' of sporting gear – all representing excellent value for money.
