Welcome to this week’s club news,
Hurley Heroes: I’m open to correction, but I’m going to say that at the weekend, we had a “first” for the club when Leah Fallon captained the Wicklow U16 camogie team against Kildare. I’m not aware of a player from our club doing this before. Also on the team were Orla Divilly and Ella Dowling.
It was also a significant weekend for eight of our juvenile players when they made their debuts for the Wicklow U14 hurling team against Carlow. Well done to Harrison, Abhay, Lucas, Arthur, Sean, Tom, Hugo and Senan.
U13s battle Ballyboden: Some of our U14 camogie girls had their first run out of the year in a U13 match against Ballyboden St. Endas on Saturday. Some sparkling performances got the year off to a flying start and showed there’s lots of potential for this team. We’re really looking forward to watching their progress this season.

Adult footballers on the double: It was a good weekend for both our adult ladies and our second men’s football team. They both picked up two league points. The ladies team got their campaign off to the perfect start with a win away to Newtown while the lads picked up their first league points of the season thanks to a home win against Baltinglass. Special mentions for Darragh Rush, Mark Hayden, Callum O'Connor and Sean O'Neill who paid their debuts for this team.
Weekly lotto: Our weekly fundraising lotto jackpot is now up to €2,300. Last week’s winning numbers were 13, 14, 25 & 30. The weekly cash prize winners were Sean McConville and Aoibheann Ní Shúilleabháin. Get your tickets HERE
