Welcome to this week’s club news, U16 Ladies Footballers March On: What a victory for this group at home to Valleymount in the championship last week. It was anyone’s game at halftime with just two points separating the teams. But a great second-half display of determination and fitness saw our girls run out winners on a score line of 7-09:1-09. This means the team have now progressed to the semi-finals as group winners. Good win sees adult men’s intermediate into semis: An impressive all-round display by our adult men’s intermediate football team means that they have qualified for the semi-finals of the championship. They played some good stuff to comprehensively beat Coolkenno in the quarter-finals. They have now set up an exciting tie with local rivals Kilcoole in the semi-finals. This match will take place - Sunday, 18 September
- 1 pm
- Aughrim

Festival of Football: What a day both our U12 ladies football teams had at the "festival of football" held at the Wicklow Centre of Excellence in Ballinakill on Saturday. They did brilliantly in their matches against St Nick's and Clara and really deserve their medals. There were a massive 550 ladies footballers there. What a great way to get young women to play our national games! Weekly lotto: The winning numbers in last week’s lotto draw were 2, 9, 10 & 13. Nobody matched all the numbers so tonight’s draw is €2,500. Dave O’Regan and Kevin Brady were the weekly cash prize winners. Tickets for tonight are available HERE. Rolling back the years: The mind was willing but the body less so for our veterans’ team in the St Anne's Masters 7s tournament on Saturday! I suspect there were quite a few aches and pains going into work this morning. Well done John, Paul, Conor, Clive, Dermot, Brian, Adrian, Kenny and Pat. Yours in sport, Daniel English, pro.eireoggreystones.wicklow@gaa.ie
