Welcome to this week’s club news, National G4M&Os Blitz: Torrential downpour or not, our fabulous Gaelic for Mothers and Others (G4M&O) group were determined to play football and have fun at the national blitz in Portmarnock at the weekend. They played teams from Dublin, Kildare, Cork and Mayo along the way. I’m told they even did some on-field dancing! U14 Ladies Footballers in Fine Form: There was double joy for our U14 ladies footballers yesterday. Firstly, they qualified for the semi-final of the U14 “A” championship thanks to a nail-biting victory against Carnew. Level with four minutes to go, Carnew got a goal. But with the girls' "never say die" attitude, they scored two goals in the last two minutes to win 4.09 to 4.06. After the match, county board representative Terry Canavan presented the Division 2 league trophy to the team who went through the league unbeaten.  New Baby: The club would like to congratulate Laurie and Brendan Cunningham who play on our adult football teams on the birth of baby Conn. Some good sporting genes there for sure. Junior B Men’s Footballers Progress: Ultimately, a draw was enough to ensure that our Junior B (second) men’s adult football team progressed to the knockout stages of the championship. A late point from Niall Deeney saw them draw with Bray Emmet’s 1-08: 0:11. They now play Newcastle this Thursday (8th) to see who progresses to the quarter-finals.
