Welcome to this week’s club news,

Senior hurlers bow out of championship: Two goals scored in a two-minute spell in the early minutes of the second-half were to prove crucial as our senior hurlers were eliminated from this year’s senior hurling championship by four points. Read match report HERE

Delgany Heritage Week: The club was delighted to participate in Delgany Heritage Week The club's resident historian Fergus O'Brien gave a captivating talk on the history & heritage of Hurling (since 1272 BC with the Fir Bolg v the Tutha deDannan) and the history of Éire Óg on Mill Road (since 1934 AD and the mergers of Delgany, Kilincarrig & Greystones clubs).  Fergus even explained the nine international stick games (cousins of Hurling), how the Vikings learned Hurling around here and took it back to Scandinavia and developed the ice hockey (bandy) version!

Adult Men’s Football: A strong second-half performance propelled our junior B adult men's football team to victory over Newtown tonight in the championship. This means that it's two wins from two and they'll play Bray Emmets next week with the winner progressing directly to a quarter-final and the loser going into the preliminary quarter-final.

Our adult men’s intermediate football team face Barndarrig in a straight knockout match at 2pm (today) in Ashford.

Our U12 camogie girls were in action last weekend at the Sheehan Brothers Memorial Blitz organised by Arklow Rocks Camogie On a scorcher of a day the girls played four matches against strong opposition from Arklow, Aughrim and Avondale and played superbly in very close fought games. Thanks to everyone who travelled and to Arklow for organising a great event! Image Hosted by PicturePush - Photo Sharing

Weekly lotto: 5, 21, 23 & 29 were the winning numbers in this week’s lotto. As nobody matched all four numbers another €100 is added to the jackpot meaning tomorrow’s (Monday) draw is worth €2,200. The weekly cash prize winners were Lea Finn and Peter Hanlon. Get your tickets HERE.

Yours in sport,
