Welcome to this week’s club news,
U19 Hurling: For the first time, we've entered a team into the Dublin U19 hurling league. This is to ensure that this age group gets more regular matches. The team competes under the name Northern Gaels and consists mainly of players from our club and Kilcoole. Last Monday. They played Castleknock at home. Despite leading for most of the match, the concession of two late goals saw them just pipped. A good effort nonetheless and looking forward to seeing them progress throughout the season.
National Club Draw is Back: Each year the GAA runs a National Club Draw where 100% of all funds raised are retained by each club. We have previously used these funds to help:
- Install astroturf out to the 21-metre line on our training pitch and ball wall
- Erect ball barriers on top of the ball wall
- Employ a second Games Promotion Officer (GPO), Aoife Murphy
- Purchase of a new generator
We have further plans to improve our facilities including the refurbishment of our changing rooms and showers, so help us to achieve this by supporting the draw.
This year, there are even more prizes on offer varying from a brand new Dacia car to All Ireland Final Tickets, and lots of cash prizes. Tickets cost just €10 and are available at https://eireoggreystones.com/national-draw-2022/
U16 Camogie Team off to a Flyer: On a blustery night, last Wednesday our U16 camogie team won their opening league game of the season at home to Annacurra. A great start to the campaign! Looking forward to the rest of the year.
Weekly lotto: The winning numbers in this week’s lotto were 2, 12, 18 and 29. Nobody matched all four numbers so tomorrow (Monday’s) jackpot rises to 1,100. The two weekly cash prize winners were Lynne Dowdall and Adrian Carley. Tickets are available HERE.
Blitz Bonanza: Through our Games Promotion Officers (GPO), we strive to develop strong ties with our local primary and secondary schools. This week, we hosted three secondary schools, St. David's, Colaiste Craobh Abhann and Colaiste Raithin for a camogie blitz. It was great to see over 50 girls taking to the pitches to enjoy some camogie. Well done girls. Camogie Abu.
Yours in sport,
