Welcome to this week’s club news,

Academy Wraps-Up for the Season: We had a spook-tacular ending to our academy last weekend. The academy was a great success this year with record numbers. We’d particularly like to say a massive thank you to all of the coaches for all their hard work. This includes our young helpers who brought great enthusiasm, skills and a “have-fun” attitude. Minor boys’ footballers claim title: A great victory for our minor boys footballers who won the minor B championship this week. The scores were level at half-time but the second half belonged to us as we scored another 1 goal and 3 points, with the final whistle blowing on a scoreline of 2-06 to 0-6. Well done to Tadhg, Peter and all the lads. Read match report https://eireoggreystones.com/club-news-1-november-2021/

AGM: This year’s AGM will take place on 11 November. It will be held in a hybrid format with some limited spaces (eight pods of six) for physical attendees and others attending online. If you would like to attend in person, you can email secretary.eireoggreystones.wicklow@gaa.ieThe link for virtual attendance will be made available in advance.

U13 hurlers in plate glory: Well done to our U13 hurlers who won a close contest against Avondale to win the U13 plate. The lads built up a head of steam in the second half against Avondale to run out winners on a score of 3-5 to 3-2.

Weekly lotto: The winning numbers in this week’s lotto were 9,10,13 & 15. As nobody matched all four numbers, another €100 is added to next week’s jackpot meaning that it rises to €4,300. The weekly cash prize winners were Eoin Fleming and Dave Gilmore. Get your tickets for next week’s draw HERE.

Foundation Level Coaching Course: We're running the GAA's foundation coaching course across the next two weeks. With expanding numbers, we really do need more parents to come on board and help. This course is a great way to dip your toe in the water. Remember, no playing or coaching experience is required, just enthusiasm and an interest in your child learning Gaelic games in a fun and safe environment.

Big weekend for adult men’s football teams: It's been a challenging year for our two adult men's football teams. Both exited their respective championships earlier than they would have hoped. Now, they face into their final match of the season knowing they must win to maintain their status, lose and they're relegated. Last night, our Junior A team secured a great victory at home to Aughrim to give themselves a real chance of staying up. Tomorrow at 11 am against Bray in Bray, our senior team will be hoping to repeat the trick. Please do try and support.

Yours in sport,

Daniel English, pro.eireoggreystones.wicklow@gaa.ie
