Welcome to this week’s club news,

Glory for girls U16 girls footballers: More silverware this week as the girls U16 footballers defeated Rathnew 4-11:3-04 in the "B" championship final. It was a great team performance with a well-deserved victory. Well done to Mick, Shay, Martin and all the girls.

Intermediate ladies’ footballers pipped: Commiserations to the adult ladies footballers They were beaten 4-08:3-06 in their championship final against Clann na Gael(Kilmac/Enniskerry).They were right in it throughout, fought gallantly til the end and they gave it their all. This is a young, up and coming team, with lots of good days to come. Read a match report HERE.

GAA National Inclusion Fitness Day: On Wednesday the club took part in the GAA National Inclusive Fitness Day. The event aims to promote sport and physical activity to everyone in the community. The event was a great success with members from Lakers taking part and also Callum whose siblings play with club. Huge thanks to Gary Lehane, Ciaran Marrinan, John Keogh, Kevin Spain and Sinead Fox for running a superb session and to Lakers volunteers Sarah and Robyn and Junior Committee members Abbie, Ellen and Kevin for all their help on the day and making all the players feel welcome to the club. We hope to run more sessions in the future to give these stars a chance to display their skills!

The event was part of the Healthy Club initiative the club is part of - a joint venture between the Healthy Club and Juvenile Committee More Healthy Club initiatives on the way. More photos HERE.

Minor shield success for minor boys footballers: This team finished off the season with a victory over Rathnew in a really entertaining encounter held in Avondale. Team captain Joe Prendergast was awarded “man of the match” too. Read a match report HERE.

Minor hurlers in “A” final action this weekend: Several club players are part of the Northern Gaels team which face Bray Emmets in the county A final this weekend. A match preview is available HERE. The match is also available to be streamed at www.officialwicklowgaa.ie

Weekly lotto: The winning numbers in this week’s weekly lotto were 6, 13, 19 and 25. The weekly cash prize winners were Catherine Coveney and Ken Cole. Tickets for this week’s draw are available HERE.
