Welcome to this week’s club news, Féile fantastic: Our U14 hurlers have qualified for the national Féile. At this age group they combine with Kilcoole and play under the moniker of Northern Gaels. They defeated Bray in the final of the qualifying competition so will head up to Roscommon on 8th June. 
3rd adult football team rises again: Following a hiatus of a few seasons, the club will field a Junior C adults football team this year. Historically, this team has been a great outlet for older players and younger ones to play regular matches. They’ll play their first match next Thursday against Barndarrig. Weekly lotto: The winning numbers in this week’s weekly lotto were 11, 13, 18 and 24. The weekly cash prize winners were Niamh Sherlock and Peter Simpson. Monday’s jackpot is €12,000. U16 ladies win season opener: It was great win for U16 girls in their first match of the season against Rathnew .A bit of rustiness from the girls especially in the first half hitting the woodwork 6 times, but they kept their heads and held out for a 6-8 to 3-3 victory. 
U11s try out new format: On Wednesday, we fielded 3 football teams at U11s.This year U11 is 11 a side with 3 points for a “point” and 1 for a goal. The traveling team put in a great performance vs Rathnew. While our 2 home teams gave it their all vs Bray and Kiltegan. In total 42 children played with all teams growing into the match as they went on - very much attack focused! Roll on the next set of matches. Senior footballers just pipped: Our senior football team travelled to Annacurra last weekend. They were beaten by the bare minimum going down to a late point. Read match report HERE.
