Welcome to this week’s club news Adult ladies’ footballers claim county title: The hard work put in over the year by our ladies’ football squad has certainly paid off. They were crowned County Junior B Football Champions after defeating Barndarrig in An Tochar on Sunday. The squad is composed of 28 players and numbers in its ranks neophytes, ring rusty returnees, experienced footballers and players who have graduated from our u-16 team.
Senior hurling quarter final: The replay of the Dacia Championship quarter-final against Carnew has been fixed for tomorrow, Saturday 16th at 3.00pm in Joule Park, Aughrim. Come and carry your flag for Greystones! Paddy Casey Live in the Big Top: Don’t forget to get your tickets for the Paddy Casey gig which takes places on Saturday, 23rd in our grounds. It will take place not in our hall but in a large circus like tent. This is bound to create a great atmosphere. Tickets just €20 HERE
Senior footballers hold county champs to force replay: It will also be a replay for our senior footballers after they shared the spoils with reigning county champions Baltinglass last weekend. The lads built up a decent lead at half time, but were pegged back towards the end. A really decent result especially as they had to play more than half the match with 14 players. The replay is set for 23 September. Camogie county calling: A massive well done to Grainne, Siobhan and Aisling who represented Eire Og and Wicklow in the u14 All Ireland blitz.
U 14 girls football: Well done to our u-14 girls who put in a great performance against Carnew in the County final in An Tochar on Saturday. They fell just short being defeated 2-08 to 2-04. Lotto jackpot now €10,000: Ok, it’s getting serious now. Who wouldn’t want to take home next Monday’s prize? The winning numbers in last week’s draw were 2, 16, 17 & 24. Diarmuid Potts and Rory Fallon took home to the two weekly cash prizes. Get your €2 tickets HERE Yours in sport Daniel English
