Welcome to this week’s club news,

Club players drive county U17s to glory: Here's a great picture featuring club players Megan Healy, Eva Roche and Aoife McTeague taken in Abbotstown today. The ladies were on the Wicklow team which won the shield competition at a national blitz. Along the way, the beat Cork, Kildare and Meath, overcoming Kerry by two points in the final. Well done ladies, the club is proud of you!

Weekly lotto:  The jackpot keeps rising and rising. The winning numbers this week were 16, 17, 24 & 28. Nobody matched all four so next week’s prize rises to €9,200. Ann McElheron and Michael Cawley trousered the weekly cash prizes. Just a €2 investment could yield the cash this week. Tickets HERE.

Senior footballers advance to quarter finals: Our senior footballers secured their place in the last eight of the senior football championship with a comprehensive 1-22: 0-10 victory over Newtown last week.  The win ensures that we top the group and will now face Baltinglass in a knock out clash. Read match report HERE.

Boys U11 football:  Our u-11 footballers were at home to Blessington on Wednesday evening but as it turned out matters did not proceed in a totally satisfactory manner.  The normal format for events at this age group is 2 simultaneous 11-a-side games with scores being combined to determine the winning outfit.  Unfortunately, the visitors arrived with less than the required complement so the games had to be played at 9-a-side.  Read how it went HERE.

Senior hurlers in championship victory: Eire Og 2-17-2:12 Kiltegan. Glancing at this score, an apparent runaway victory for Greystones, your excitement-obsessed junkies would no doubt conclude that the game held little interest for the spectator and had an air of weary inevitability about it from early on. Not so, read how HERE.

Yours in sport,

Daniel English
