Welcome to this week’s club news Club players central to senior county teams: It’s a big weekend for both our senior football and hurling teams. The hurlers play Carlow in the semi-final of the Christy Ring Cup on Saturday and the footballers play Louth in the Leinster Championship on Sunday. Remarkably, Stephen “Chester” Kelly pictured below will play for both teams and caption the footballers. Darren Hayden is also on the football team, while Anto Byrne, Billy Cuddihy and Peter Keane will play with the hurlers. The whole club is behind you lads!
Weely lotto: The winning numbers in this week’s lotto draw were 5, 7, 17 and 27. Nobody managed to match all four numbers so another €200 is added to next week’s jackpot. Please do support our lotto. It’s our lifeblood for fundraising. Maire Ni Giollaphadraig and Kieron Mooney were the weekly prize winners. Tickets available HERE. U14 Camogie blitz: Wicklow entered 2 teams in the first u14 Leinster intercounty blitz in Portlaoise this week. With two Eire Ógers Graduating onto the intercounty scene. Congratulations Grainne and Siobhán on your intercounty debuts. Many congrats to Aisling Goff too for selection to the county team as well - wishing her a speedy recovery so she can make her debut soon.
U11s footballers in double victory: U-11 Eire Og had a comprehensive win over St Pats Wicklow in their top of the table clash in the u-11 league. The competition had the usual 2 match accumulated score format. Much of the credit must got to the defences in both teams which between them limited Pats to a single major between the 2 games.
