Welcome to this week’s club news
Awards night triumph: It was a great night in the golf club last weekend at our celebration night. Well done to all the winners, and to the organisers Mark Barry, Daniel O’Connor and Anthony Byrne. For a look at all the photos from the night click HERE
Weekly club lotto: Please don’t forget our weekly club lotto. It’s a principle source of income. This week’s winning numbers were 7,8,21,28. Despite a couple of people coming close, nobody matched all four numbers, so another €200 is added to the jackpot, meaning next week’s is €6,000. Tickets are just €2 available HERE
U15 & U17 Hurling Report: Our boys’ teams at this grade combine with Kilcoole to from North Wicklow Gaels. The U15s first outing of the year took place on Wednesday evening resulted in a narrow 1 goal defeat to Bray Emmets in Bray. Nth District Gaels 2-11 Bray Emmets 4-08. The U-17s and Avondale Rocks locked horns in Kilcoole on Monday evening in the league and the contest ended on the score 3-11 (20) 2-12 (18). For match reports, READ the full weekly club notes.
U14 Camogie joy: The chilly conditions last Monday didn’t stop our U14 camogie team in their match against Kilcoole. A strong start that continued to end with Siobhan, Ailbhe, Eva and Faith getting on score sheet. Well done girls
RIP: We deeply saddened to learn of the death of Jennifer Molloy. Jennifer's son, Sam, played juvenile hurling & football with us for the last 10 years, her daughter Hannah plays U16 girls Gaelic Football and Jennifer's husband, Paul, has been a great supporter of the club over those years.
