Welcome to this week’s club news

SENIOR FOOTBALL: The senior footballers took a significant scalp in Division 1 of the league on Tuesday.  They defeated Blessington in Blessington on the score 1-11 to 1-09.  Victory, however, came at a huge cost.  Dual player, Stephen ‘Chester’ Kelly, in the closing minutes suffered a very serious shoulder injury which will have him sidelined for some time.  Peter Keane, Justin O’Brien, Stephen Kelly, Dominic O’Reilly and Darren Hayden were particularly prominent in the game.

SENIOR HURLING: The senior hurlers drew, 1-11 each (same score as the footballers in Blessington!), with Avondale in their opening game in the championship in Arklow on Sunday. The unanswerable question is would the balance have been tipped in our favour if the injured ‘Chester’ could have taken his place on the team.  We wish Stephen a speedy recovery both for his own sake and, selfishly, for the hurling and football teams.

FEILE as described by Luke Dorgan who was a member of the team.....

On Friday the 24th of June the Eire Óg Greystones Under 14 Football team headed off to County Kerry to participate in Division 4 of the National Féile.  The team and our three mentors Maurice Prendergast, Peter O’Neill and Tadgh Shanahan had put in a lot of hard work and preparation for this special weekend.
