SYMPATHY The coiste of Éire Óg at its monthly meeting passed a vote of sympathy to club President Patsy Vickers and to the Vickers family on the death of Patsy's brother Tom in Chelmsford. Ar dheis Dé go raibh anam Tom.
U14 CAMOGIE TEAM PLAY FIRST EVER MATCH: In a significant achievement for the club our U14 camogie team played their first ever match last Monday when then travelled to Avondale to play Aughrim. By all accounts they played really well. Looking forward to getting lots more reports about this talented group of young women. Have a look at them in action http://bit.ly/1MGibqg
COMHGÁIRDEACHAS to our u-14 footballers who, by their defeat of St Nicholas in the final of the Cill Mantáin Féile in Ballinakill have earned the privilege of representing Wicklow in the National Féile which is being hosted jointly by Corcaigh and Ciarraí. St Nicks really put it up to our lads. Greystones were 3 points in arrears at the break, 1-01 to 1-04 – not a very comfortable position with only 15 minutes to be played – and to say we were relieved to come away with a 4-02 to 2-06 win would be somewhat of an understatement.
The management of Maurice Prendergast, Tadhg Shanahan and Peter O'Neill extend a sincere go raibh maith agaibh to the soccer and rugby clubs for their co-operation with respect to the availability of dual players. See the lads with the cup http://bit.ly/1YFzPLv
WEEKLY LOTTO: It just keeps getting bigger and bigger. The club lotto wasn’t won again last night. The winning numbers were 17, 21, 25 and 30. Surprisingly, nobody managed to even match three numbers. Next week’s jackpot is €7,200, the law of averages dictates that it will be won imminently, so buy your tickets at www.eireoggreystones.com
STRICTLY COME EIRE OG: Want to have fun, meet new friends and help raise funds for the club? Strictly ire g will take place in the Fitzpatrick Hotel, Killiney on 10th June. We still need a few dancers (especially men!) to complete the couples. You’ll receive full training and be supported at every stage. If interested, call John at 086 8280261
FACEBOOK: Do you “like” us on Facebook yet. If not, you’re missing out just go to https://www.facebook.com/eireoggreystonesgaa/ for all the latest.
DIVISION 3: Our Junior As made the long journey through white-speckled hills to Hollywood on Sunday morning. It turned out to be a fruitful one with their registering a 1-9 to 0-11 win over the locals
