U14 FOOTBALL FÉILE GLORY: Glory: What a week it’s been for the U14 footballers. At the féile qualifying tournament held in Balinakill, Rathdrum they won five consecutive games, beating Tinahely, St Pats, Michael Dwyers, Rathnew and Blessington to secure a coveted place to represent Wicklow at the national Féile to be held in Cork and Kerry in June. CLUB PLAYERS IN MINOR COUNTY ACTION: This weekend will be a big one for three young men in the club. Eoin McTeague, Adam O’Shea and Cian O’Flaherty as they are part of the Wicklow panel who will take on Kildare in the first round of the Leinster Minor Football Championship this weekend. Good luck lads!
LADIES JUVENILE FOOTALL: This is section of the club which is having a real resurrection. Tonight (12th) the U16s played their first match at home to Carnew. The team performed admirably and recorded a convincing victory. Kudos also to Carnew for making the long trip to Greystones. The U14 girls play Valleymount on 14th April while the U12 girls play An Tochar on 19th April.
JUNIOR A FOOTBALLERS NOTCH A WIN: The Junior A footballers (2nd adult men’s team) had a superb win last weekend away to Hollywood. The team prevailed on a score line of by 1-09 to 0-11, an outstanding team performance despite only having 16 available players. Fine performances by Michael Dunne, Matt Maguire, David Behan, James Cranley, James Wood & Jonathan Groome. Well done to Manager Ed Davis & his team.
STRICTLY COME ÉIRE ÓG: Want to have fun, meet new friends and help raise funds for the club? Strictly Éire Óg will take place in the Fitzpatrick Hotel, Killiney on 10th June. We still need a few dancers (especially men!) to complete the couples. You’ll receive full training and be supported at every stage. If interested, call John at 086 8280261
